THE WARREN ROYAL ARSENAL
The Waterfront Masterplan is a mixed use scheme incorporating 2,032 new homes, commercial floorspace and a reconfigured and enlarged Royal Arsenal Gardens. The site is located in an area known as the “Warren” to the west of the historic Royal Arsenal boundary wall. The ambition of the Proposed Development is to transform an underused parcel of land into a new, thriving neighbourhood which will enhance both the setting of The Warren, and Woolwich as a whole.
Buildings are positioned in response to their context and in order to maximise views. A number of new and enhanced connections are proposed which will link the currently isolated riverside to the rest of Woolwich knitting the proposals into the fabric of the town. Building heights vary from five floors in the southern part of the site up to twenty-one floors along the river. Outline planning approval was granted in April 2013.
