The Flying Scotsman sets off from King’s Cross

On 25 February, The Flying Scotsman set off from King’s Cross, London, for York. The historic train has returned to service with its maiden journey of the 21st century.

The train, which last graced the tracks in 1963, left from an altogether very different King’s Cross this time, with a new station and the exciting transformation of the King’s Cross Central Masterplan now coming to fruition. Two Pancras Square, one of several new buildings at the heart of this exciting development, looked over the scene (photographed above).
