PLANNING APPLICATION SUBMITTED FOR THE ‘COOLING POD’, KING’S CROSS

The planning application for the ‘Cooling Pod’, a two-storey building housing a cooling generation plant and associated facilities located in our King’s Cross Masterplan, was submitted to Camden Council.

The internal layout of the building optimises the sustainable generation of energy through Trigeneration (combined heat, power & cooling), whilst the design of the building’s envelope will ensure a building in keeping with the architectural quality of the King’s Cross development. The form of the building responds to the curved setting out of an adjacent HS1 Railway, with an expressed diagonal inflection created by fins running the full height of the fa├žade that dynamically engages with views from moving trains.
